Happy Thanksgiving 2023!

A couple dressed as pilgrims standing in front of a sign.

Happy Thanksgiving from Sugarbush Key West!  Kelli and I are so grateful for all the love and support from our friends/family we have received over the past year.  Whew the last 12 months have flown by.  It seems like just yesterday we were in Germany visiting #JKBrown14!  FYI - it was enlightening to see folks go directly from Halloween to Christmas ... skipped right over the Turkey and Pumpkin Pie.

We hope this missive finds you surrounded by people who love and respect you.  We trust that you have a safe place to live and a table full of traditional foods.  We got out for Publix for $68 and will have left overs for days.  Thanks Aunt Sandra for the Allen Green Beans recommendation.

Finally, we wanted to share with you something that we are particularly happy and thankful for this year:  OUR BUDDY COTTRELL IS 100% CANCER FREE!  Whew talk about dodging a bullet, that cowboy missed a close one!

100% CANCER FREE!  terry cottrell tony mclean brown

Back in the Spring, Cottrell went to the Doc for his annual check up.  They said his PSA was elevated, and he need to have it checked.  He felt good and had no idea he had prostate cancer at 70 year of age.  Thankful for early detection.

THEN, he was given the three options:  do nothing, 45 days of radiation, or something pretty extreme.  He opted for door 2.  Thankful for healthcare professionals and advances in prostate cancer treatment.

THEN, we did a podcast EVERY day of his 45 days of treatment.  We learned a ton.  We laughed a lot.  We probably offended 3/4 of viewers ... which is well above our 50/50 "wish I hadn't said that" ratio.  Don't believe me ... click to the Happy Guide Blog!

Before ya'll get all judgey and cancel us again,  there was real fear of death and dying, there was real stress of "doing the right thing," and there was a HUGE gap in information about what Cottrell should and could do.

Cottrell wanted to document his radiation treatment journey day-by-day to provide information to other men who might be staring down the same barrel.

Our podcast is about all what he went through during his 45 days of radiation.  It's gritty, ugly, unkind, and unshelacked.  His feelings, his anger, his disappointment, his courage, his humor, and his success.  #CancerSucks

DO NOT WATCH "Castration of a Cowboy" if you are offended by pretty much anything.  Hell he gave it the title ... blame him.

Thankful Cottrell made it through and is 100% CANCER FREE.
